This exceptionally attractive Winchester Model 21 includes a highly detailed factory letter outlining features of this incredibly unique shotgun. Upon initial inspection the piece appears to be a very finely made 20 gauge Presentation grade, a closer look, however, reveals a truly unique configuration of a 28 gauge barrel on the right, and a 20 gauge barrel on the left. The factory letter confirms this configuration and states that this is the only barrel set of its kind produced at the Winchester Custom shop. The letter further notes the shotgun as being completed on November 11, 1992. The blue, Winchester Proof Steel chopper lump barrels feature dual gold inlaid bands and 4 inch wedges of finely executed scroll engraving at the muzzles, red bead front and steel bead mid sights on the matte vent rib marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER", both barrels marked with the standard maker, model, and gauge roll marks, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, breech ends of the barrels marked "20/GAUGE" and "28/GAUGE", modified/modified chokes, and matching wedges of engraving at the breech. The flat side action features a lightened, skeletonized water table, gold plated single trigger with selector, and automatic sliding tang safety. The barrel flats, water table and standing breech are brilliantly engine turned. The action is engraved with a tight, delicate, swirling scroll pattern. This pattern is also found on the cover of the Winchester "Custom Built Shotguns - Rifles" catalog published in the 1930s and on page 319 of "The Book of Winchester Engraving" by Wilson. The top of the break lever is adorned with a gold inlaid image of a Winchester shot shell head, and the underside of the action features a highly detailed, semi-relief, gold inlaid Winchester Horse and Rider. Fitted with an AA fancy checkered American black walnut field style beavertail forearm with ebony tip insert, and straight wrist stock with gold initial oval and checkered bare butt. Includes an unlabeled factory box. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent/near mint overall with 99% original fine blue finish remaining, some scattered small handling marks, and some very light rubbing under the safety switch. The wood is also excellent with highly attractive figure, crisp checkering, and only a few insignificant small dings. Mechanically excellent. A fantastic, factory embellished Winchester with a very unique barrel configuration.
