Description:

Introduced due to competitive pressure from Astra's Spanish-made Broomhandle pistols, especially in the lucrative Chinese market, the 1932 Schnellfeuer took everything people loved about the Broomhandle and cranked it to 11. The result was a compact machine pistol, which could be reconfigured to a carbine as needed, feed from 10 and 20 round detachable box magazines (without sacrificing clip loading), and could either tap out single rounds semi-automatically or let rip at 900+ RPM on full auto. Needless to say, the target audience (China) went for it wholeheartedly, and sales only terminated when Japan joined the Axis Powers, making export to any of the Chinese factions (who essentially fought the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War simultaneously) unacceptable. Schnellfeuers are also known to have been used on both sides of the Spanish Civil War, as well as being used as a secondary Wehrmacht sidearm as well as by the Waffen-SS. Blade front and 1,000-meter tangent rear sights, with "crown/crown/U" on the upper left chamber flat and atop the bolt, three-line address marks on the top flat and right side of the frame, and the Mauser banner on the left side, immediately behind the "N" and "R" marked selector switch. A set of 12-groove hardwood grips are included, and the left side of the grip frame is professionally engraved "INTERAMERICAN SACTO, CA./7.63MM GERMANY" and "87472"; the exact date of import is unknown, but definitely pre-1986 based on the registration papers. Included with the pistol is a clipped-out vintage Armex International ad for Sales Sample Schnellfeuers (at a quaint price of $425 and a quaint BATF waiting period of approximately 90 days) and an English language manual.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 40% plus original blue finish, showing bright gray on the high edges, the barrel and the magazine well, areas of darker gray and brown patina, mild spotting and light scratches and handling marks overall. The grips are good, a bit dark and with some mild dents and scratches. Mechanically very good. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
