Scarce World War II Soviet Izhevsk Arsenal Tokarev SVT-40 Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle with Scope and Bayonet

This is a scarce example of an early WWII Russian Izhevsk Arsenal manufactured SVT-40 sniper rifle that is complete with the Tokarev scope mount and a 1941 dated PU sniper scope. These SVT-40 rifles were highly prized by both the Finnish and German Army Snipers and were very effectively used throughout WWII, due to their semi-automatic actions and the large capacity detachable box magazines. The top of the receiver is stamped with the rare Izhevsk "arrow inside a triangle" factory proof mark over "1941" for the year of manufacture. With the original Cyrillic prefix serial number (transliterated as "EP1031"), matching serial numbers on the charging handle, trigger guard, and left side of stock, and assorted Soviet inspection marks on the various components. The receiver is fitted with a correct Tula Arsenal sniper scope base and "1941" dated PU (Progress) scope. The base is numbered (transliterated) "PG1218" with a Tula Arsenal "star" stamp at the rear. With hooded post front and tangent rear sights, and six slot muzzle brake. Standard hardwood pistol grip stock with ventilated handguard, ventilated blue steel heat shield, and flat blue steel Izhevsk marked buttplate. Includes bayonet, sheath, leather lens caps, and green canvas web sling.

ConditionFine with 80% bright original blue finish remaining, areas of high point and edge wear, slight plum coloration on the exposed end of the barrel, scattered small scratches throughout, and some spotting and brown patina visible on the receiver cover. The refinished stock is also fine with slightly shallow grasping grooves, some scattered larger dents and bruises, and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent. Scope is also fine with exterior scratches and some light spotting, and clear optics. Bayonet and sheath are very fine overall.
