Description:

Manufactured by Pieper of Herstal, Belgium under contract for arms designer Theodor Bergmann. Fixed blade and notch sights, left side of the receiver marked "BREVETE./S.G.D.G.", followed by the three-line Pieper address and Bergmann's patent marking, and "C in diamond" proofs on the right side of the barrel, receiver, and frame. Features an overall rust blue finish with straw colored small parts and checkered grips with a lanyard loop on the butt. Included with the pistol are a set of items related to the 1896 Bergmann, including an English language manual and two German language posters.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, a few spots of shallow pitting, bright edge wear, light scratches and handling marks, and a small amount of spotting. Much of the straw finish has faded to gray, with bright traces on the magazine catch and light spotting. The grips are fine, with some light dings and dents. The paper goods shows some mild stains, creasing and wear, but are generally solid and legible. Mechanically fine.
