Description:

The Gaulois was manufactured from 1895 to around 1912 and operates on a "squeeze fire" action with an internal magazine. It has a single bead sight on the barrel rib which is marked with the company trademark and "GAULOIS", a sliding dust cover marked "No./1", "Cal." and "8 m/m" on top of the frame, the round company emblem on the top of the frame at the rear, a three-position "S/F/D" (safe/fire/unload) safety switch, and a hard rubber plunger pad marked "R" on the left. The barrel, action, and side plate have matching serial numbers. It comes in a paperboard flask case marked "Cognac/Leon Croizet."

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 75% original blue finish, strong original case colors on the plunger, light aged coloration on the pad. Crisp markings, mechanically functional, fine bore is mostly bright with crisp rifling. Hard rubber palm pad fine with some handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically fine. The case is fine and has some flaking at the edges.
