The included factory letter confirms the nickel finish, barrel length, and caliber when the it was shipped to M. W. Robinson, New York City, on July 31, 1884. Near full coverage New York style floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background. Both sides of the frame are marked with monogrammed initials, "APC" on the left and "SHC" on the right. The letter states that the engraving was likely carried out by Robinson's company and that they also supplied the pearl grips. Matching serial numbers on the barrel latch, barrel, cylinder, and butt.
Very fine, retaining untouched original 95% retailer applied nickel, light handling/storage evidence, some minor flaking of the finish, and areas of light hazing. The grips are very fine with an age crack on the left panel. Mechanically fine.
