This revolver is pictured and identified in Neal and Jinks' "Smith & Wesson, 1857-1945" on page 197, attributed to pioneer S&W collector Robert Nadler, and the authors noted, "Only a few of this models were chambered in .38-40 WCF." 1 9/16 inch cylinder, barrel marked "38 WINCHESTER CTG.", December 1943 factory return date on the grip frame, and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch.
