Each of the back action locks are gold inlaid with the markings "J-B/Penron/PERE & FILS/A StETIENNE" ("Penron" is possibly "Lenron"). The locks are engraved with exceptional relief chiseled floral scroll and serpents with bestial hammers. A "green man" is engraved on the silver trigger guard with hallmarks visible on the tang. Single bead sight on the concave solid rib of the Damascus twist barrels. The nicely figured forearm and stock have basket weave checkering on grip areas, a "green man" type mask at the wrist, lion and deer scene on the left, sling swivel on the butt (forward swivel on ramrod pipe), and a smooth trapdoor buttplate.

Very good plus, with traces of original brown finish mixed with grey-brown patina on the barrels with distinct Damascene pattern, mostly grey patina on the locks and bright gold inlay, and traces of nickel finish on the remaining surfaces. The refinished stock is fine with some well executed repairs, a few very light handling marks, and mostly crisp carving. The replacement (too long) ramrod is stuck, and the barrels each have obstructions in the bores, possibly loads. Mechanically fine.
