Each of the back action locks are gold inlaid with the markings "J-B/Penron/PERE & FILS/A StETIENNE" ("Penron" is possibly "Lenron"). The locks are engraved with exceptional relief chiseled floral scroll and serpents with bestial hammers. A "green man" is engraved on the silver trigger guard with hallmarks visible on the tang. Single bead sight on the concave solid rib of the Damascus twist barrels. The nicely figured forearm and stock have basket weave checkering on grip areas, a "green man" type mask at the wrist, lion and deer scene on the left, sling swivel on the butt (forward swivel on ramrod pipe), and a smooth trapdoor buttplate.
