Manufactured in 1943 production Remington Rand M1911A1 Pistol. The pistol has a correct dark Du-lite finish with blued barrel and checkered, brown plastic grips. The hammer is checkered with flat sides, the trigger is stamped and the main spring housing is the checkered Remington Rand pattern. The left side of the slide has the second type, 1 3/8 inch "REMINGTON RAND, INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A." marking. The right side of the frame has the "NO." serial number prefix and is stamped with the Ordnance Corps escutcheon behind the grips. A "P" proof mark is stamped on the left side of the frame behind the magazine release and on top of the slide ahead of the front sight. The Ordnance inspector's initials "FJA" are stamped on the left side of the frame below the slide stop cut-out. The stocks have reinforcing rings around the screw holes and interior strengthening ribs; the inside of the grips have a mold number and a five-pointed star. The feed ramp is polished bright. Lanyard loop on the butt.

Excellent, 99% of the original finish remains on the slide showing minor wear along high points and a few surface scratches. The frame retains 95% original finish exhibiting only the slightest collector type handling marks. The grips are also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
