Manufactured in 1942. Standard blade (locking cup in place) front and fully adjustable rear peep sights with locking bar on the windage drum, large red painted band on the forearm, standard markings on the receiver heel, milled trigger guard, and walnut pistol grip stock with a boxed "S.A./G.H.S." inspection cartouche on the left side, and checkered trapdoor buttplate. The red painted band was used by the British government to identify that the rifle was chambered in the American .30-06 cartridge and not the standard British military .303 caliber. The rifle is wrapped in grease paper, and the barrel and fire control group markings have not been examined.
