This is a fine representative example of a first variation Finnish L-35 Lahti pistol. Manufactured between 1939 and 1941 the pistol has the correct early rounded protrusion ahead of the rear sight, rounded loaded chamber indicator, "<VKT>" and "L-35" markings on top of the slide, matching visible serial numbers, fixed blade front and notch rear sights, and lanyard loop at the rear of the frame. The grips are the correct checkered mottled brown plastic with "VKT" monograms on the sides. Includes a correct very rare wooden holster style shoulder stock. According to the information on page 313 of "Axis Pistols" by Jan C. Still only 50 of this type of stock were issued on an experimental basis, and no more were produced. The stock body is the correct two-piece wood construction with un-numbered attaching iron, blue steel spare magazine holder (with extra magazine), steel spring clip on the body to retain the included leather belt loop, and recess in the butt cap containing the combination screwdriver/magazine loading tool. The stock is correctly heavily varnished.
