Manufactured in 1896, the second year of production, as one of the first 5,000 manufactured with the flat sided receiver. The standard two-line address is on the barrel, caliber marking at the breech, model designation on the upper tang, patent dates on the trigger plate, and serial number on the lower tang. Fitted with a Lyman pinned beaded blade front sight, elevation adjustable notch rear sight, and a Lyman receiver mounted peep sight. The left side of the lower tang is marked with the assembly number "3282SoF", "3282" is repeated on the buttstock under the buttplate along with "95", and "C/3282" is marked on the inside of the buttplate. Mounted with a very finely figured and "H" pattern checkered, schnabel tip forearm with an ebony insert and a pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and smooth shotgun buttplate. The included factory confirms the current configuration as well as receipt at the warehouse on 2 September 1896, shipment the next day, and return/repair dates of 26 October 1896 and 22 June 1898.
