Description:

The receiver has "MODEL 1871" marked on the left side and the eagle over "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1872" on the right side. The upper tang has the Remington patent date marking and the two barrel bands are stamped with the letter "U" on the right side. Equipped with a folding ladder rear sight and a blade front sight. Full length stock with a leather sling, "US" marked buttplate and an "ESA" cartouche on the left side of the wrist.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel and bands have a bright appearance showing a few small areas of minor pitting. The receiver retains patterns of original case colors. The wood is fine with a large dent (right side of forearm) and some minor handling marks. The cartouche is sharp. Mechanically fine.
