Manufactured around the mid-19th century. The left side of the barrel is marked "DUMONTHIER" suggesting it was made by or under the patents of Joseph-Célestin Dumonthier of France who also made double barrel knife pistols such as the one owned by Emperor Maximilian of Mexico that is currently part of the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago. The knife blade and barrel are formed as one piece. The barrel itself has no sights. The blade is 8 1/2 inches long. The revolver features floral and geometric engraving. Includes an ill-fitting replacement brown leather sheath with brass fittings.
