Browned Damascus steel barrels marked "JOHN BLISSETT & SON. 322 HIGH HOLBORN. LONDON." and wedge of scrollwork on the breech end of the otherwise smooth concave rib, a single silver front bead insert, extractor, and Birmingham reproof marks dated 1964. The casehardened action has a Jones Patent rotary underlever, sculpted fences and non-rebounding hammers, and each side lock is engraved with a small dog and game bird scene and engraved "JOHN BLISSETT & SON. LONDON" and double smooth triggers. The action also has borders and wedges of scroll engraving throughout, as well as floral screwheads and a dog and game bird scene on the trigger guard under the lever and the serial number engraved on the tang. The nicely figured straight grip walnut stock has wraparound checkered panels, a gold initial oval on the comb engraved "HPB", engraved steel heel and toe plates with checkered forend that is hinged at the action knuckle and attaches to the barrel with a key wedge. With period brass-cornered oak case with green baize compartmented interior.

Fine with 98% of the rebrowned finish remaining on the barrels with clear markings and minor handling marks. The action shows signs of the original casehardened finish with most of the action retaining a dull silver patina and crisp engraving. The refinished wood has crisp recut checkering and minor handling marks and scratches and a small crack forming at the back of the right side lock. The case is fine with a revarnished exterior with some handling marks and spotting, the interior has been relined with some minor wear, the bottom of the case has been felted with a cloth strip tacked border with some tearing and loss of material.
