Blued dovetail lump barrels numbered to the gun are signed "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND" on the solid rib which features an engraved scroll flourish at the breech, single bead sight, engraved bands at the breech, chambers marked and measure 2 3/4 inches, automatic ejectors, modified/full chokes, and Birmingham nitro proofs dated 1963 on the flats. Casehardened hand detachable side lock features full coverage floral scrollwork, engraving pattern extending to the top lever, trigger guard and forearm hardware, signed "WESTLEY RICHARDS," gold lined cocking indicators, "Crown/BNP" proofs on the water table, double triggers, and automatic tang safety with "SAFE" in gold. Highly figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock featuring multi-point checkering, tear drop carved accents, Anson forearm release, blank inlaid initial shield and bare checkered butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter proofed at .729 and measured at .731/.730; choke constriction .016/.041; minimum wall thickness .029/.029; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 13/16 inches; length of pull 14 inches; slight but noticeable cast off.

Excellent. The barrels retain 98% plus original blue finish with a couple barely noticeable spots of spotting towards the muzzle (left barrel). 99% plus original case colors remain on the action, and 99% plus original blue remains on the barrel release and trigger guard. The engraving is crisp. The wood is also excellent with handling marks, small patch of dings near the heel, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Truly a highly attractive Westley Richards & Co. shotgun that would be a welcome addition to any sporting collection.
