These Model 455 EELL rifles are each individually custom hand built to the customer's specifications, masterfully embellished by the world's best engravers, and truly represent the pinnacle of Beretta's artisan arms manufacturing. These rifles are the embodiment of the highest refinement in function meeting unparalleled artistic craftsmanship, creating an arm that is absolutely worthy of the phrase, "not all art is framed". The Bohler Super Blitz chopper lump barrels are marked with the Beretta U.S.A. address and "P. Beretta -ITALY-" on the right and left respectively. The bottoms of each and the flats are marked with standard Italian proofs dated to 1990, model designation, and serial number. The concave smooth rib is fitted with a ramped beaded blade front sight and an elevated quarter rib at the breech. The quarter rib is beautifully engraved with a floral cross hatch pattern, border, and flourish of scroll leading into a very finely checkered section of matting in front of and behind the three-leaf express rear sight which has two folding leaves and one standing, all with gold inlaid center lines and marked for 50, 100, and 150 yards. There are light floral bands engraved at the breech of each barrel. It features automatic ejectors, manual sliding tang safety, dual triggers with the front articulated, and hand detachable locks. The bolstered, pinless side lock action has been masterfully engraved by independent engravers, Manrico Torcoli and Gianmarco Sabatti, with beautifully executed, near full coverage, floral scroll and Bulino style scenes of four of the "Big Five" game species on the side plates, bottom, trigger guard, and break lever. "P. BERETTA" is on either side of the action in banners incorporated into the scroll with the caliber marking on the bottom in a similar banner. The Bulino game scenes feature a pair of rhinoceros on the left, a pair of leopards on the right, elephant on the bottom, and a male and female lion on the break lever and trigger guard respectively. Torcoli signed his work on the left and bottom game scenes and "ORNATO G. SABATTI INC." is marked discreetly to the right of the trigger guard. The flowing scroll engraving continues on the extended upper and lower tangs with the model designation in a banner on the lower and the upper tang extending up over the nose of the comb, onto the trapdoor grip cap, and the cartridge trapdoor on the bottom of the buttstock. The rifle is mounted with a select, hand fitted, finely figured splinter/semi-beavertail forearm with multipoint checkering, a small engraved diamond-shaped insert, and engraved lever latch. The pistol grip stock has matching checkering and figure, trapdoor grip cap, shadowline cheek piece, cartridge trapdoor for two cartridges, and a leather covered solid recoil pad. The stock measurements are: drop at comb: 1 1/4"; drop at heel: 2"; length of pull: 14 1/8"; weight: 11 lb 6 oz. Includes a leather takedown case with P. Beretta trade label inside the lid, two snap caps, four hardwood handled turnscrews, and two extra firing pins and firing pin springs.
