This is a very fine example of WWII U.S. Army contract Remington Model 1903A4 sniper rifle manufactured in the first block of serial numbers. While in theory the 03-A4 should have been made obsolete by the introduction of the M1C and M1D Garand variants, the Springfield sniper saw use through World War II and Korea, as well as into the Vietnam War. The sights have been properly removed, with a "RA/3-43" barrel, and the receiver shows the proper off-set to the manufacture and model markings to accommodate the scope blocks. A Redfield scope rail is installed on the receiver, with an M84 scope serial numbered "20113" installed in the rings, full blue finish with sliding metal sunshield, rubber eyepiece, and a post and wire reticle. Smooth pistol grip stock with a circled "P" stamp on the underside of the grip, "RA", "crossed cannons" and "FJA" inspection stamps on the left side at the wrist, "BA/11" on the left side of the buttstock and a broad flat checkered buttplate.
