Manufactured in 1883. Single bead sight on the smooth, concave rib marked "COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." with 2 7/8 inch chambers, and single extractor. Casehardened receiver and lock plates with flourishes of fine scroll and borderline engraving on the locks, action, and trigger guard. With sculpted and engraved hammers and dual triggers. Checkered forearm with ebony tip insert, engraved fittings, and round knob pistol grip stock with checkered, hard rubber Rampant Colt buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Very good. The barrels have an overall gray patina with 40% visible Damascus patterns, scattered small nicks and dings, and traces of original blue finish. The action and locks retain strong patterns of original case colors (more vibrant in the protected areas), attractive silvered patina on the balance, well defined markings and engraving, and traces of original blue finish on the trigger plate and guard. The wood is good with several visible cracks and chips on the forend, scattered dings and bruises, and moderately worn checkering. Mechanically excellent.
