The included factory letter confirms the current caliber, barrel length, finish, and the "Double action cylinder of long flute configuration" when it shipped to G. S. Bert at Winchester Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut on 7 August 1914. The double action long flute cylinders are rare as Colt only assembled 579 single action revolvers in 1914 (1,478 total from 1913-1915) utilizing surplus cylinders from the Model 1878 revolvers per Graham, Kopec, and Moore on page 156 of "A Study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver". Includes a custom hardwood case and 24 .45 Long Colt cartridges.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 90% plus refinished blue and 30% case colors, primarily in sheltered areas, with the balance a smooth grey patina and some scattered minor dings and scratches, especially around the cylinder stops. The barrel is a professionally made modern replacement. The grips are fine with numerous age lines scattered throughout. Mechanically needs repair, action is locked up and does not cycle.
