Casehardened patent breeches each inlaid with a short platinum line, engraved with two narrow bands of stylized running foliage and fitted with a slotted platinum plug, the rib section engraved with scrollwork and two further narrow bands of stylized running foliage. The underside of the barrels with Birmingham proof marks. Casehardened grooved standing breech and bar-in-wood side locks, the latter each signed “WESTLEY RICHARDS”. Furniture including casehardened trigger plate with pineapple finial and blued trigger guard. Border and scroll engraved throughout. Figured walnut half length straight hand stock with checkered grip, the underside of the butt with blank silver oval initial escutcheon. Brass mounted ramrod with worm. In brass cornered mahogany fitted case lined in green baize, with some accessories including “hanging game” powder flask, the case containing a unmounted period printed Westley Richards trade label.
