Manufactured in circa 1886. Blued octagonal barrel marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND. ST. LONDON.", single rear dovetailed sight and inset beaded blade front sight, with light border engraving on the breech and partially matted sighting plane from the breech to the rear sight and surrounding the front blade. Casehardened action with back-action side lock marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" with double underbolts, single hare's ear hammer with percussion style fence, single casehardened trigger, extended top tang and light border engraving throughout. Blued, lightly engraved top lever and trigger guard, with the latter engraved with the serial number "11103". Checkered walnut stock and forend with case hardened engraved grip cap and forend lever, and horn forend tip, with red rubber recoil pad, and large blued swivel stud with the corresponding stud dovetailed into the barrel. The modern case is made of oak and elephant leather, with brass fittings, a green baize compartmented interior, and canvas cover with elephant leather corners, trim, and straps. Includes two 8 bore Holland & Holland period bullet molds, one for conical bullets and one for round ball.
