This very fine hammergun was completed in circa 1876. With blacked round barrel with bead front sight, signed “HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 33, BRUTON STREET, LONDON”, side bolsters to the breech end and short border and scroll engraved sighting flat. Casehardened border and scroll engraved bolstered action with carved percussion fence and back action lock signed “HOLLAND & HOLLAND”. Casehardened underlever and trigger guard engraved en suite. The underside of the barrel and water table with London nitro proof marks for 2004. Well figured 13 5/8 inch straight hand stock including extensions and orange rubber recoil pad, and with checkered grip and forearm, the latter with green horn cap and key fastener. The underside of the butt with small blank silver oval initial escutcheon. Weight 14 lbs. 5 oz.
