Description:

Manufactured between 1905 and 1909 by Frank Hollenbeck under the name of "The Three Barrel Gun Co." of Wheeling, West Virginia, one of the few producers of drilling type combination guns in the U.S. at the time. Blade front and elevation adjustable rear notch sights, 2 3/4 inch chambers with single extractor, and full/full chokes. The casehardened receiver shows game scene engraving, the left shows a bear in a forest scene, the right shows a running deer in a forest scene, and the trigger guard shows a bird in flight. Checkered walnut round knob pistol grip stock and splinter forend. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bores 9 inches from the breech .733/.731 inches; choke constriction .035/.040 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.023 inches; drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 inches; weight 7 lbs 8 oz.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall, showing an attractive grey patina on the barrels, 60% case colors on the receiver, mild overall handling evidence, a few scattered scratches, and crisp wood checkering. A dent is present in the right barrel. Mechanically excellent.
