Description:

The silver rimmed plate has a plastic center with the five "General of the Army" stars arranged at the middle. The top of the silver rim is engraved "GENERAL OMAR N. BRADLEY/75TH BIRTHDAY/FEBRUARY 12, 1968" and at the bottom is "MHC". During World War II General Bradley rose through the ranks quickly, first serving under General George Patton in North Africa, before eventually becoming the commander of the 12th United States Army group which was comprised of 43 divisions and 1.3 million men. The initials at the bottom are attributed to Marjorie and Chester Hansen. Chester Hansen was a journalist/diarist assigned to Bradley throughout the war. By wars end, Hansen had written more than 300,000 words, in multiple volumes, about the day-to-day life of General Bradley. The plate is presented in a black, glass-topped, shadow box and also includes a George Jensen box and felt storage bag.

Rating Definition:

The plate is very fine showing little wear and some attractive antique patina which is primarily on the underside of the rim. An excellent extraordinarily historic conversation piece to add to your desk or study!
