Description:

The included factory letter states that this steel frame pistol was originally built in the standard blue configuration and was placed in the S&W factory collection until it was authorized for sale by Roy Jinks and delivered on May 27, 1975, to Robert L. Goodhind of Springfield, MA. Jinks also states that because it went to a local dealer, it could have been brought in anytime for embellishment. Also included is research from the consignor stating that Jinks concluded the pistol was likely sold to Dwight Bullard, a prominent Springfield city official at the time and an avid target shooter. He was personal friends with many officers and employees of Smith & Wesson. The pistol has nickel plated barrel bushing, safety (engraved "DB"), grip screws, and magazine release with non-standard uncheckered Smith & Wesson medallion grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 99% original blue on the frame and slide with nearly all of the later nickel-plating on the small components and showing some minor handling evidence. The grips are good with a crack on the top of the right panel and some small marks. Mechanically excellent.
