Manufactured in 1908 with the standard two-line Winchester address on the top barrel flat, desirable "50-EX" caliber designation on the upper left flat, and Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver. The upper tang has the three-line model designation and trademark, and the lower tang has the two-line patent dates and serial number. Fitted with a special order Lyman white beaded blade front sight, elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, and special order receiver mounted Lyman peep sight, with both of the special order sights being confirmed by the factory letter. Smooth straight grain forearm and straight grip stock with special order sling swivel eyes and swivels on the forend cap and buttstock, which is also fitted with a special order, hard rubber, Silvers shotgun recoil pad. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, including all of the special order features, as well as listing the rifle as "smokeless" when it was received at the warehouse on 9 March 1908 and shipped on 10 March 1908.
