Manufactured in 1894. The barrel is stamped with the two-line Hartford address on top and "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side. The frame has the three-line patent dates followed by a circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, trigger guard and back strap. The accompanying Colt factory letter addressed to noted collector John Fox states records for this revolver are unavailable. Provenance: The John Fox Collection

Fine, retaining 70% original nickel finish with flaking on the balance. The worn grips are good with a chip near the screw (left panel). Mechanically fine.
