Description:

Less than 500 of No. 7 rifles were manufactured around 1903-1906 with some minor variations. Most were chambered for .25-10 Stevens and the .22 short or long rifle rimfire cartridges. This example, however is chambered in .32-20 W.C.F. as the No. 7 could be made in the same calibers as the No.2 rifle. Some sources estimate only forty made in this caliber. It has a globe front sight, "REMINGTON ARMS Co. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A." on top of the barrel, a folding peep sight on an integral extension on the back of the action, "P S" and the two-line address and patent marking on the left side of the action, the serial number on the lower tang, a Schnabel forearm with checkering and an ebony insert, and a multi-point checkered pistol grip buttstock with hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. Provenance: Firearms for Freedom Collection

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retaining 85% original case colors and 60% original blue finish with thinning on the balance. Wood is very fine with some scattered minor scratches and dings and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
