U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1884 Trapdoor Cadet Rifle

Referred to as the Second Type Cadet rifle with 10,500 made between 1890-1893. Faint "SWP/1893" cartouche on left side of stock with a circle script "P" behind the lower tang and "US" marked buttplate with a white painted "7" on the right rear. Cadet length barrel with standard blade front sight and Buffington pattern rifle rear sight. "U.S./MODEL/1884" marked breechblock.

ConditionVery good, retaining mottled applied brown and blue finish thinning along the length of the barrel with some muzzle wear and on the lock, receiver and breechblock. The re-oiled stock is very good with some handling marks, small dents, and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
