OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

Referred to as the Second Type Cadet rifle with 10,500 made between 1890-1893. Faint "SWP/1893" cartouche on left side of stock with a circle script "P" behind the lower tang and "US" marked buttplate with a white painted "7" on the right rear. Cadet length barrel with standard blade front sight and Buffington pattern rifle rear sight. "U.S./MODEL/1884" marked breechblock.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retaining mottled applied brown and blue finish thinning along the length of the barrel with some muzzle wear and on the lock, receiver and breechblock. The re-oiled stock is very good with some handling marks, small dents, and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
