This c. 1815-1820 mounted infantry officer's saber has a curved blade measuring approximately 31 inches straight with niter blue panels terminating in floral patterns, mix of bright and gilt etching in floral and martial designs, and fifteen stars above a spread wing eagle with "E Pluribus Unum" banner on the right. The silver plated hilt has spread wing eagles on the languets, a carved bone handle, and a screaming eagle pommel. The scabbard is silver plated brass.

Very fine with 80% original niter blue and gilded finish remaining on the blade, distinct etching, bright balance with minor oxidation, 70% silver plating on the hilt displaying dark aged patina, minor age and handling related wear including minor age cracks on the grip, and mild overall wear. The scabbard has 60% original silver plating displaying mixed aged patina and minor overall wear including some small dents.
