Description:

This c. 1805 saber has a "Philadelphia" style eagle pommel, a roughly 27 inch curved blade with one broad fuller and one narrow fuller and a false edge, gilt brass hilt with "P" guard, and flat wire wrapped wood grip. The leather scabbard has gilt brass fittings with scalloped edges.

Rating Definition:

Good with silver-gray patina and minor pitting on the blade, mild edge wear, bright gilt finish in the protected areas of the hilt and aged patina on the exposed brass, minor cracks in the grip, and mild overall wear from age and use. The scabbard is very good and has minor crackling in the leather, 30% original gilt finish on the fittings, aged patina on the balance, and mild overall wear.
