"C" inspector mark on the left breech end, and "F" on the right. Cylinder with Naval Battle of Campeche scene, partial matching number "082", and "L" and F" inspector marks. "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers are present on the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Unnumbered wedge. Brass grip straps with "L" inspector mark behind the hammer. Smooth one piece grip with "PB" (Peter Barrett) inspector cartouche on the left side with matching partial number "082" marked in black ink on the back strap mortise.

Very fine, retaining 60% faded original military blue finish on the barrel and cylinder with the balance a light brown patina, 50% vivid case colors with brown patina on the loading lever, recoil shields, and hammer. Grips are also very fine with some dents and scratches and an exceptionally fine cartouche. Mechanically excellent. This variation of U.S. Colt revolver is much sought after!
