Manufactured with a combination of a Pearl Manufacturing tube receiver and assorted vintage parts, this is a fine, functional example of the signature MP40 SMG of World War II fame. In the same class as the British STEN and the American M3, the MP40 was optimized for speed and ease of production, making heavy use of stamped metal in the construction. Blade front and two-leaf rear sights, with the Pearl markings on the right side of the receiver and mixed serial numbers and proofs on the other components. The lower receiver is paneled in brown ribbed bakelite, with an underfolding steel buttstock and a brown leather sling. Five extra magazines are included with the SMG, along with an original WWII magazine carrier. The carrier is the two-pouch, six-cell variety (shoulder strap and loading tool absent), tan canvas with black leather straps, marked "clg 43" and "MP 38u40" on the belt loops.

Fine as refurbished overall. The receiver tube shows a strong blue finish with mild handling marks, and the vintage components show areas of brown patina, along with spotting and mild handling marks. The bakelite panels are very good, with mild scuffs and chips overall and traces of green paint on the left side. Some of the extra magazines are in rough condition, with the others fair. The magazine carrier rig is in very good condition, with mild wear and staining. The magazine well is a bit tight, otherwise mechanically very good overall. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
