Manufactured by the firm of V. Charles Schilling of Suhl, the Bergmann was developed in the mid 1890s and was produced in limited numbers. With blade front and notch rear sights, German "crown/crown/U" proofs, the Schilling "mountain man" oval logo on the right side of the frame, and a series of numbers on the individual components to denote order of disassembly. Fitted with a straw finished trigger and hammer, nitre blue safety, and checkered walnut grips. Includes a black leatherette case with a Bergman ribbon label on the inside of the lid, glass oil vial, screwdriver, and cleaning rod. Provenance: The Clive Cussler Collection

Very fine, retaining 70% period refinished blue finish with some areas thinning, some light handling marks, and sharp markings. 70% of the original straw finish on the small parts, with the safety parts refinished blue. Grips are fine with some light handling marks, and crisp recut checkering. Mechanically excellent.
