British Martini-Henry Cutaway Single Shot Military Rifle

Fixed front and ladder rear sights. Sides of receiver cut out for full view of internals, breechblock top sectioned with visible firing pin and spring. Resembles some early features of a MK I with a bronze breechblock axis pin and short lever. Forend never cut for a cap, cleaning rod absent, "WD/broad arrow" War Department Acceptance marks on rear barrel band and rear sight, unmarked stock, butt plate absent (no original screw holes for one). Underside of the lever stamped "7777". Possibly a factory demonstrator cutaway. Provenance: Firearms for Freedom Collection

ConditionFine, retaining 70% arsenal refurbished blue finish turned to a brown patina with some light muzzle wear, and flaking on the rear band and top of breechblock. Wood is very good, with exception of a two inch sliver of wood absent top left, scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
