This decorative armor was made in the 20th century and is stylistically based on classic European plate armors of the 16th century. This armor features a close helmet with barred visor, gorget, breast- and back-plates, long tassets, full arm defenses with fingered gauntlets, and full leg defenses with articulated sabatons. The front facing surfaces of the helmet, breast-plate, tassets, shoulder, elbow and knee plates with acid etched scrollwork inhabited by human figures, monster heads and coats of arms, and two mounted classical knights in combat with a crown between on the breast-plate, all against a darkened background. The armor is accompanied by a decorative broadsword with wire bound grip and is mounted on a wooden stand. The armor approx. 6 ft. high not including the base of stand.
Very good with some light surface patination throughout but generally a dulled grey patina with mostly clear etched decoration. Aged leather straps in functional condition. The rear of the helmet, back-plate and sabatons with more noticeable surface corrosion patination. The broadsword has a similar aged appearance with mottled gray patina.
