The casehardened and bolstered receiver is nicely scroll engraved along with the hammers, trigger guard, release lever, and tangs. The locks feature the same scroll as well as relief cut game scene engraving depicting a hound flushing birds on the left and a fox chasing birds on the right. Nicely figured, checkered walnut splinter forend and pistol grip stock with engraved grip cap and skeletonized buttplate over checkered butt. Included is a second barrel set with the same markings and measures 26 1/2 inches. Barrel measurements for extra set (R/L): chambers measured at 2 3/4 inches; bores 9 inches from the breech measure .758/.758 inches; choke constriction .000/.001 inches. Fine, showing an attractive even brown patina on the barrels with strong traces of case colors on the action and locks as well as 60% plus blue finish on the trigger guard. The wood is very fine with a few pressure marks and scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
