Manufactured prior to the 1986 machine gun registration cutoff, this is a Group Industries transferable machine gun in the Browning pattern, with Group's markings clearly on the exterior of the right sideplate. The other components are from a number of sources, both American and abroad, including Saginaw and Rock Island. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with a ventilated heat shield, clamp-on swiveling carry handle, "7.62" marked bolt, and a one-piece alloy pistol grip with "1" in white paint on the right side. Included with the lot is a folding tripod with attached traverse and elevation mechanism and a Colt-style nomenclature plate attached to the back leg.
Excellent, with 97% plus of the original matte gray phosphate finish, showing a few scuffs and spots overall. The small clip for securing the T&E hardware to the underside of the pistol grip has been removed, otherwise the grip is very good with some mild dents and scuffs. The tripod shows some areas of rust and wear. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
