Description:

One of the most famous close combat weapons of World War II, the MP40 (Maschinen Pistole 1940) was a refinement of the MP38 with a great deal of commonality in manual of arms and accessories. These SMGs would see use through the end of the war and were very versatile as armament for vehicle crews, close-quarters fighters, and anyone else who needed a lightweight and potent weapon for short distances. Blade front and two leaf rear sights, with the "bnz" code on the receiver tube, "MP40/660/40" on the end cap, and matching numbers on multiple components, including the bolt, barrel and firing pin. The side panels and grips are of dark brown Bakelite construction, with a steel underfolding buttstock. Included with the SMG are seven extra magazines and two magazine carriers. Both are three-cell construction and configured for wear on the left side of the body, one in green canvas with leather straps and "eagle/M" stamps, the other black leather with a faint "eagle" stamp and a magazine loading tool on a front-mounted pouch.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 70% of the refinished blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, edge wear and mild handling marks. The bolt has been fitted with a fixed solid steel cocking handle with no sliding safety mechanism. The Bakelite panels are showing mild scratches and dents. Both of the pouches are in good order, showing mild scuffing and staining. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
