Description:

One of the most famous close combat weapons of WWII, the MP40 (Maschine Pistole 1940) was a refinement of the MP38, with a great deal of commonality in manual of arms and accessories. These SMGs would see use through the end of the war, and were very versatile as armament for vehicle crews, close-quarters fighters, and anyone else who needed a lightweight and potent weapon for short distances. Blade front and two leaf rear sights, with the "WaA/623" Steyr Waffenamt stamps on the receiver tube, "MP40" and "cnd" (Krupp Register) on the end cap. The sights, barrel, barrel nut, firing pin and bolt are numbered to match the receiver, with the endcap and trigger guard numbered "9913h". A set of brown Bakelite sideplates are mounted to the trigger housing, with a pair of darker grip panels, underfolding steel stock and a gray/green leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Fine as assembled, with 40% of the blue finish, showing areas of gray patina, mild spotting and light handling marks. Some patches of rust are present on the trigger housing, and the panels and sling show scuffing and scratching. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
