Description:

Less than 500 No. 7 rifles were manufactured around 1903-1906 with some minor variations. Most were chambered for .25-10 Stevens, like this example, and the .22 short or long rifle rimfire cartridges. The barrel is fitted with a combination Beach front sight and is marked "REMINGTON ARMS Co. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A." on the top flat and "25-10" on the underside. The barrel and forearm are numbered to the gun with the partial serial number "238". There is a folding peep sight on the integral extension of the back of the action, "P S" and the two-line address and patent marking on the left side of the action, the serial number on the lower tang, a Schnabel forearm with checkering and an ebony insert, and a multi-point checkered pistol grip buttstock with hard rubber grip cap and buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 85% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. 80% original case colors remain on the frame. 95% plus original blue remains on the breechblock and hammer. The wood is excellent with some minor handling marks, overall crisp checkering and nearly all original finish remaining. Mechanically excellent. A solid example of Remington's last rolling block model, the No. 7.
