Description:

This print of a photograph by legendary Montana photographer Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931) has been colorized using water color tinting and is marked "Jerk-line 12 On The Old North Mont. Freight Road" in the bottom left and "©L.A. Huffman." in the bottom right, both in black ink. Pictured is team of 12 horses with a driver pulling a train of four fully loaded wagons. The image is 7 1/2 x 18 5/8 inches with a thick off white matting border in a 13 1/4 x 24 1/2 inch frame. There is a note attached to the back marked "The jerk line team owned by Tex Sthalings from about 1909 to about 1915 one of the best trained teams in the country" and the paper backing on the frame is marked "RBT. CONWAY/Miles City Saddlery Print" and "Nothing written on back of print." Provenance: The John Fox Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with distinct imagery and vibrant color showing very minimal wear and a short minor crease in the lower left corner. The frame also shows very minimal wear.
