This revolver was manufactured c. the late 1860s-early 1870 and factory converted for rimfire cartridges and equipped with an ejector. New York, possibly factory scroll, geometric, and floral engraving covers most of the metal surfaces, and the designs are consistent with other factory engraved Remington revolvers from the era. The barrel has a "pinched" blade front sight and is marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858. MARCH 17. 1868/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. NEWYORK. U.S.A./NEW MODEL." The barrel is numbered "147380." The underside of the grips are number "108" in blue ink. The left side of the grip frame has "15" and "100418," and the trigger guard spur has the matching partial serial number "418." The back of the trigger guard plate has "415," and the back of the spur has "177."
