The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILLION.N.Y. U.S.A." The incorrect caliber designation "44.W." (revolver is chambered for 44 Rem CF) is stamped on the left grip. "175" is stamped on the trigger guard, left side of the frame beneath the grips, and written on the inside of each grip, and the loading gate arm has "144."
