Manufactured c. 1808-1831. The lock is signed "W/KETLAND/& Co". The barrel is marked "LONDON" and "WB 445" with Birmingham proofs on the left of the breech. Features an 11 inch folding "snap" bayonet. The trigger guard has an acorn finial. Floral and border engraving is visible at the breech, lock screws, trigger guard, and buttplate. The gauge is estimated, and the bore flares out to 1 3/16 inch at the muzzle.
Fine, brass retains an attractive original bright patina, smooth brown patina on the lock, mottled gray/brown patina on the bayonet and barrel tang, crisp markings and engraving throughout. Stock is very good with numerous scattered light dents and scratches. Mechanically fine, including the bayonet mechanism.
