Manufactured in 1884 this carbine was one of only 3074 rifles and carbines to come off the line during the first year of production. This carbine features special order full nickel plated finish, elevation adjustable rear sight, early open top frame design, and the early patent marking (1883 patent dates only). The trigger guard bow slide release is absent.

Very good retaining 80% period replated nickel finish, some areas of pitting on the exposed metal, and some flaking along the edges. The wood is very good with scattered pressure dents, scratching, and small crack on the left of the forend. Mechanically excellent.
