Manufactured 1894 to 1935. The barrel two-line legend ends with the August 1893 patent date, and the upper tang has the late production "MODEL 94" marking along with a factory six-pointed star. "38-40" is stamped on top of the barrel at the breech. The top of the receiver is factory drilled and tapped for sight mounting. The receiver and lever are casehardened, and the remaining surfaces are blued. The forearm and straight grip stock are nicely figured walnut.
Excellent, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with thinning on the balance a some minor pitting on the buttplate. The receiver and lever retain 90% plus original vivid case colors with slight fading on upper tang. 97% original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. The wood is also excellent showing very limited minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
