Percussion cane gun with handle finely relief carved as a sea monster with teeth made of horn and eyes made of pearl, sea plants below the monster's mouth and a silver oval plaque marked "Lindner/in/Suhl". A smoothbore steel barrel is housed inside of the bamboo shaft. Removable horn tipped brass ferrule that seconds as a cleaning rod. To load, unscrew the handle from the barrel, then remove the empty percussion cartridge, add a cap on the end, and load with powder, patch and ball. After replacing the cartridge and handle, the ring at the collar is pulled back to cock and a flip out trigger on the handle is used for firing. Provenance: The Larry Mattson Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with some light age related wear, some small chips and repairs in the handle, and a crack on the horn tip of the ferrule. Mechanically functions fine.
