Description:

Deringer percussion pocket pistol period converted into a long barreled cane-rifle. Lock marked "DERINGER/PHILADEL'A". The handle/stock is a tree branch reworked around the mechanical parts. The steel ferrule at the muzzle is able to be taken out prior to loading by twisting it to the left. The silver butt of the pistol contains a small compartment for caps. The consignor mentions this cane as being good when going to stand-around events such as horse races or polo matches. Provenance: The Larry Mattson Collection

Rating Definition:

Good with some light patches of pitting on the barrel and breech. Stock is good with some scattered handling marks, a crack underneath, and a repair above the butt. Mechanically fair, the trigger does not properly reset without manual assistance.
